It seems all focused on Tottington and broadly the Bury/Bolton area. This of course will continue to grow. However my father can trace his history back to Harmston, thence to India, Cornwall and then via London to Tottington. Pix and info to follow. He had a large family too! Then of course is my wife's family, father from what we thought was originally Sussex, but we now know Hampshire! Last but not least my mother-in-Law, part German and part Polish.
Probably time for some sort of Genealogy table!

Tottington Wesleyan School 1922

This picture has my Great Aunt Irene Lomax on it. She is 3rd from the left on the top row. This school was attached to the church. Of course many of the family and close relatives are buried in the churchyard. I was raised in "Tottie". And still consider it my home town, I have spent the last 40 years on the Fylde coast.
She remained in the area, married James Cosgrove in the church, taught at the Bury Tech. She died at Highbank nursing home in Walshaw. Who are all these other people!

Changes to format

I am unable to resist changes to the format of this blog! I made the blog wider and tweaked the art work slightly

Robert Eric Noel Martyn-Clark

I'd thought I'd use this blog to update my family history shenanigins. So I have posted 2 pictures of Graylingwell Hospital, together with its incumbants. The "suit" in the centre is my grandfather Robert Eric Noel Martyn-Clark. He was a doctor, and he served on the front line, towards the end of the war, he must have opted for a life dealing with combat scarred troops. Eric was born on Christmas day and coincidentally died on Christmas day too. His wife Ethel survived him by a few years and my father and his sister were brought up by his Mum's sisters in Cornwall. The final photograph is Robert Eric in service. Does seem a little peculiar that every person on the photo is in a different uniform. It does actually seem that they may even be different nationalities. Robert is on the top row, second from the left. He was always known as Eric in the family.
